A Black Aussiedoodle is just an Aussiedoodle with a black or part black coat simple as that. Some are solid black, while others have these gorgeous black and white patches – and their coat can be curly, wavy or straight.
They’re super popular, you know, because they’re low-shedding and intelligent as all get out. And they are a breeze to train which is always a bonus. Plus they love hanging around kids and other pets. And lets be honest, that black coat just gives them a certain… oomph compared to red, cream or merle Aussiedoodles.

Some Black Aussiedoodles are just the prettiest thing – black and white coats, and they get called Tuxedo Aussiedoodles because of the pattern. Personality-wise, and in terms of behaviour, these dogs are no different to solid black Aussiedoodles.
Mini black and white Aussiedoodles are pretty popular too. Theyve got that same friendly vibe but are just a little smaller. And adult black and white Aussiedoodles are about as laid back, as smart and as easy to train as you could want.
Full grown Black Aussiedoodles come in all shapes and sizes: mini, med, and standard.
Mini Black Aussiedoodles weigh between 10 to 20 pounds and stand about 12 to 15 inches tall – theyre lively and energetic but perfectly fine living indoors. Med Black Aussiedoodles weigh in at 20 to 40 pounds and stand 15 to 20 inches – they love getting out and about and require a decent yard size.
Standard Black Aussiedoodles on the other hand really pack a punch 40 to 65 pounds and a good 18 to 24 inches tall. These guys need a lot of space, no question. Then theres the Black Phantom Aussiedoodles just stunning, deep black coat with a just a hint of white marking. Theyre real head-turners. Full grown black and white Aussiedoodles are right in the running for being the most elegant looking of the lot. And personality-wise theyre just as calm, as intelligent, and as social as you could want.
Size wise in terms of weight, height, lifespan, and health it all depends on how big they are. Minis tend to live a bit longer because theyre smaller and easier to care for. Standard Aussiedoodles need to get out and about a lot but with the right care, they can still live for 12 to 15 years. Now, a word about growth – puppies grow like weeds in the first six months, and Mini Black Aussiedoodles are usually fully grown by the time they’re 12 months old. Medium and Standard dogs are a bit more laid back and take a bit longer, sometimes up to 2 years to reach full size. The right size for you will make all the difference – so think carefully about that.
Black Aussiedoodle pups are bundles of energy, full of mischief and fun. Some are solid black, some are black and white – and then theres the tri colour mini Aussiedoodles – theyre a pretty common sight.
Pups need to get some proper training and socialisation going on early on – and they need to eat regularly, have clean water and a nice comfy bed. Oh – and dont forget to brush ’em regularly or youll end up with tangles galore.
Teaching ’em some basic manners and how to get on with other pets and kids is super important too – its really helps them turn into great adults you can rely on.

Decide on whether to go for a male or female based on both size & personality. Males are bigger than females, who might be a bit more laid back.
If you’ve got a small home or apartment a Mini is the way to go. Active homes should get a Medium. For really big spaces & active families with kids, a Standard is perfect.
Just remember you’ll need to be able to give them loads of exercise, grooming, training & attention. With all that they can make for a truly loyal, playful & loving companion.
