An Aussiedoodle is a cross between an Aussie that is an Australian Shepherd a breed that is pretty highly regarded and a Poodle. Of course a lot of people also just call them designer dogs because they bring together two really popular breeds. And it is no real surprise that they’re known for being smart, friendly and full of energy.
Aussiedoodles come in a real range of colours and sizes, depending on the type of Poodle that was used to breed them. You can get small Mini Aussiedoodles or bigger standard ones. With their super soft fluffy coats and lively personalities it is no wonder they a’re so popular in the States and lots of other countries.
One reason Aussiedoodles are loved by families is that they are super loyal energetic and easy to get close to. They love spending time with people, and they don’t like being left alone for too long plain and simple.
The answer is a definite yes Aussiedoodles make great family dogs. They’re gentle, loving and enjoy being around both kids and adults. They love a bit of attention and get pretty attached to their families, which makes them really great companions.
If you socialise an Aussiedoodle from an early age they get along just fine with visitors. They are not usually aggressive and tend to welcome guests with open arms. Their playful nature makes them a real hit with kids, who love spending time with them.
They also do okay with other pets as long as you put in some decent training. Lots of families in the States love having Aussiedoodles because they are smart safe to have around kids and just really fun to have at home.
Aussiedoodles are not typically considered excessive barkers but they will bark if they’re excited, bored or trying to get someone’s attention – though some do bark more than others, largely due to their unique personalities and what they’ve learned along the way.
If your Aussiedoodle is not getting enough exercise or mental stimulation, it’s no surprise if they start barking all the time. These intelligent dogs need something to keep their minds active they can get a little restless.
Good training can also work wonders for barking. Teaching them basic commands and giving them some exercise regularly can really help keep them calm and happy at home.
Yeah friend. Aussiedoodles are usually awesome with kids and other pets. They are super friendly playful and love being part of the Family. With kids they are gentle but still energetic because they are great for playing in the yard or just hanging out. The only thing is since they come from a background They might try to little to kids sometimes but that is something you can easily fix with basic training. When it comes to the other pets Aussiedoodles do really best with dogs like Golden Retriever Labrador Retriever and even smaller dogs like French Bulldogs. Because they are social and love having a buddy friend. They can also get along with cats especially calm breeds like Ragdoll or Maine Coon cats. If they are introduced the right way from a young age. The key is early socialization and make sure your dog learns to behave around others. If you do that an Aussiedoodle can fit into a home full of kids and pets and still be everyone’s favorite companion.
Most of the time barking happens for a reason like when they are bored very anxious or trying to get your attention. For example If your dog has not had enough exercise or has been left alone too long time expect more barking. The fix is pretty simple them out first with walks or play then give them something to do like a chew toy or puzzle. Also do not accidentally reward barking if you rush over every time they bark they learn it works. Stay calm and reward them when they are quiet. Teaching a basic Quiet command early on helps a lot to much. Aussiedoodles bark when their needs are not met solve the need and the barking usually goes down.
Yes Aussiedoodles are one of the easiest breeds to train – and that’s down to their intelligence and willingness to please. As a result even beginners can train them with some ease.
They pick up commands like sit ‘stay and come pretty quickly and some Aussiedoodles do really well in dog sports and competitions. Just to note though positive training methods tend to work much better with these dogs than harsh methods, which can leave them feeling a bit nervous and stubborn.
Because Aussiedoodles are clever they need stuff to keep their minds active – toys and games that challenge them and puzzle toys that keep them guessing are all great options.
Aussiedoodles have those lovely soft curly or wavy coats that really need some regular TLC. How much they shed is going to depend on how much they resemble the Poodle or the Aussie Shepherd parent – the more Poodle influence, the curlier the coat and the less they shed.
They don’t shed as much as a lot of other breeds but there are still going to be some stray hairs here & there. The good news is that the curlier the coat, the less you’re likely to see any stray hairs.
You really need to brush them a few times a week to avoid all the tangles & matting but lots of people take their Aussiedoodles to the professional groomers every few months or so.
Bathing them is a bit of a guess & feel thing just when they need it. But keeping an eye on those ears is super important to prevent any infections from setting in. And don’t forget nail trimming & dental care they are just as important as the rest.
There is loads to be said for owning an Aussiedoodle they are friendly clever loyal & playful. They’re a dream with families & tend to be pretty easy to train too.
Their coat is another reason loads of people love them it is low shedding & a lot easier to manage than some other breeds. And they just love people they are naturally very social.
Of course, there are a few downsides Aussiedoodles need a lot of exercise & attention. if you leave them to their own devices for too long they can get bored. And let is not forget the grooming they need regular brushing & the odd grooming appointment to keep that coat looking its best.
Aussiedoodles in America are pricey people just love ’em so much! You’re looking at anywhere from 1000 to 3000 dollars for a pup and that’s just for the initial outlay. Costs can vary depending on a load of factors size colour, breeder and where you live to name but a few.
Mini Aussiedoodles are sometimes even pricier than that because people really want them. And on top of that rare coat colours will send the price rocketing up.
In addition to the cost of buying the pup (which is bad enough) you have also got to fork out for food, grooming, vet visits, toys and training. Yes the grooming those dogs need regular coat care which is not cheap.
You did think the price would put people off, but the truth is a lot of owners think they are more than worth it because of that loving + fun personality they have.
